Iranian ‘The Slaughterhouse’ to vie in Hong Kong

Iranian ‘The Slaughterhouse’ is to compete at the 2020 Hong Kong Asian Film Festival in China.

Iranian feature ‘The Slaughterhouse’ has been selected to compete at the 17th Hong Kong Asian Film Festival (HKAFF) in China.

Directed by Abbas Amini, The story of the film revolves around Amir, a young man who has been deported from France.

For the sake of his father, Amir is engaged in a shocking crime. Now, Amir, his father, and his father’s boss have to find a way out of the situation.

This is while the son and daughter of one of their victims are seriously seeking for a clue to find their father.

The cast list of the flick includes Hassan Pour-Shirazi, Baran Kosari, Mani Haqiqi, and Amir-Hossein Fathi.

Amini’s film has gone on screen at a number of film festivals, including the 25th Busan International Film Festival in South Korea and the 69th International Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg in Germany.

The annual HKAFF aims to promote local and Asian films. It defines its mission as bringing the best of Asian films to Hong Kong.

The festival provides an opportunity for the attendees to exchange knowledge and experiences.

The 2020 edition of the event will be held on November 3-22.
